Hello,
So I haven’t been updating much about school so this blog I will dedicate it to only school purpose and what the school has done and had provided us with. This is to get into depth about Rangsit University or should I say Rangsit University International College for the students who are thinking about studying abroad in Thailand and wanting to go with the USAC program. I know its kind of too late to talk about school when school is over in one more week. Its crazy how fast time flies by. Now, I would like to update everyone on what I have been doing in school and how my class are like, and also how the students are like that I have met for the past three months. I am taking fives class and all the classes are interesting. There are many different classes that you are able to chose to take here at RIC (Rangsit International College). Most of the people I know who are in the IC program are doing mainly business and communication art which it all ties into my major which is marketing and mass communication.
The Thai Language class that I’m taking is very helpful because they don’t teach you the full on language like reading and writing, but to help you get through Thailand by trying to learn the common words so that you are able to understand and get around and speak to Thai people. By taking this class I am able to speak a little bit more fluent in Thai, but still stumble over a couple of words. For the past 3 months this class has made a big improvement in my Thai. I have gotten so much better and am able to communicate with many Thai people. I have the most awesome Thai professor for my Thai language. I just think he is just too cute and adorable when he teaches. He is always laughing and smiling. We always spot in at the faculty parking lot. One time when we came out of the movies we ran into him there and he saw us and just laugh and giggle. He is just too cute. I think I learned a lot from him. We also get to go on a field trip to the market and you have to try to find different food and fruits and know the name of it in Thai. It is also to help you to communicate with Thai people. If you don’t show up to class you do miss a lot. I never missed any of his class well the only time I missed it was during International Day at RIC.
In Buddhist Philosophy, what can I say about this class, its interesting. The things the ajarn teaches in class is very interesting, but his teaching style maybe difficult to follow and understand. But he do try to help us by giving us copies of his notes. Tests are right off the notes but you just have to study for it. I find this class to be my most difficult class. Although, I’m a buddhist, but I have no understanding of this religion. I took this class in hoping to get a better understanding about my religion. I was able to get some points of this religion but I cannot fully understand the whole concept of it still.
Thai Civilization, this class happens to be one of the class that I really do learn a lot from. I may have difficult time with the ajarn or problems with group members, but I have learned a lot from this class. I was able to understand about all the different periods that happen in Thailand and about the kings in Thailand. I have to say that this class is one of the class I anticipate on going to even though I try to avoid not going, but I still go anyways. For this class I have to say that I never missed a day.
Art Appreciation, this class is taught by the same Ajarn (Professor) this is another class that I anticipate on going to because of personal reason.
But I learned many different kind of art not only Thai art but also about western art. I was able to go to my professor art show that she had in Bangkok. I thought it was interesting because they had three different artist with three different kind of art combined together in one room creating something that stood out to the viewers. In this class we didn’t do much of art crafts, but just learn about the typical art around the world.
Last class, Thai Cooking, I love this class. I must say that our group have done a great job through out the the three months. Every time we do cooking our food always turn out very good. Our professor always love our food and always tells us their our do not need any more flavoring because its just perfect.
She always comment on how well we work and that we all do our part. I think our Thai cooking instructor is so pretty! She is super nice too. Today was our final cooking presentation day. We did chicken cashew nuts, once again it was bomb! I think our food tasted the best.
We all earn a certificate for Thai cooking. I am so full from eating all the food. I have to say that we make a mean ass Tom Yum Goong!
I’m going to miss this class a lot.
So that is it for my classes that I have taken. I enjoy it very much. I learn a lot of things even though many may say that they have learned nothing at all coming to Thailand and going to school in Thailand, but that’s because I think its their own fault for not showing up to class. Class is only once a week and they still cannot manage to go to it, this is the reason why they didn’t learn anything. I believe there’s plenty of time for traveling and go to school just for once or twice a week if you just use your free time wisely.
P.S. I don’t know what people are talking about when they say that there’s not that many cute guys in Thailand. Dude! There’s plenty just keep your eyes open.
There’s plenty of cute guys right here in Patum Thani!
Okay, that’s it for my class blog. I will be back with another blog on school itself and what they have done for us.
-Love,
